Prime Your Mind And Promote Your Blog

After a long brainstorming session yesterday with the aim of creating a pool of ideas for promoting my blog, today was completely different. (For a quick reminder of the plan, read my short posts Am I Missing Something? and Scribblings On Blog Promotion)

Today, I relaxed (well, as much as is possible when driving across the UK) and stopped trying so hard and … the magic began. Here’s what happened when my mind was ‘primed’ to spot ways in which I could raise awareness of my blog…

  • One of the ideas I came up with yesterday was Guest posting. Today, I received a message to say that a post I’d submitted a little while back had been published. Uncanny. This is it, if you’re interested.
  • An email pinged into my inbox from a friend I hadn’t seen for a while – and she runs a brilliant marketing company. She would be the perfect person to offer some great advice!
  • A car overtook me and it sported one of those bumper magnets – in this case it was promoting a website playbadminton.co.uk I guess part of the reason I noticed it was because I love badminton and play twice a week but my mind was nevertheless ‘primed’ to look for any blog promotion ideas!

Tomorrow will be my second (and final) day of sitting tight and waiting to discover what my mind will deliver…why not give it a go? It’s fun and I’m thrilled with the results so far!

Oh – and the cheesecake connection…? There isn’t one. Just to get your attention. And – yes – I did make it myself ;-)

That cheescake would get anyone’s attention! It is weird what happens when you least expect it… I really hope your marketing ideas come off :-)

Thank you :-) I’m having a play – just intrigued to see what happens with blog stats when I use different approaches!

What no recipe? Great blog anyway!

Fun post and cheesecake is my absolute favorite dessert! Great teaser. I know my best ideas come when I am not so focused on the outcome or trying too hard to find a solution. Walking on the beach in California has been a great source of inspiration and ideas for me. Would love to visit Cyprus someday. Safe journey across the UK! Warm and sunny here today :-)

I agree Minette – my favourite way of gathering ideas is to go off hiking though I’m sure that walking on the beach in California would work wonders for me! If you ever do plan a visit to Cyprus – do let me know :-) And as it’s your favourite dessert… http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3842/baked-raspberry-cheesecake

Wow, I was looking for the recipe!! And I’m not even a big cheesecake or raspberry fan – LOL. I appreciate your blog. I generally have the ideas unfold. I haven’t ever had a ‘plan’ though it seems like that’s what the marketing folks say. Thanks
